How verification works
We check four separate things. Each badge tells you which one passed — and, just as importantly, what it does not cover.
The one thing worth understanding
A verified supplier is not the same as a verified product.
A supplier can pass every business and premises check we run and still list a product whose documentation we have never seen. That is why the four levels are kept apart, and why every badge on GSP B2B carries a sentence stating exactly what was checked. If a product does not show a document badge, its documentation has not been verified — regardless of how well verified the supplier is.
Business Verified
Attaches to the registered legal entity
What this covers
That the business legally exists, is registered for GST where applicable, and operates from the stated address.
What this does not cover
Nothing about what the business sells, whether it holds category licences, or whether any product is genuine.
Checks currently running at this level
- Business Registration · re-checked every 24 months Business registration, PAN and registered address have been checked. This does not verify the goods sold.
Supplier Verified
Attaches to the trading profile
What this covers
That the supplier genuinely trades from real premises, with sourcing documentation and trade references checked.
What this does not cover
Category licences and product documentation. A Level 2 supplier may still list products we have never examined.
Checks currently running at this level
- Supplier Activity & Premises · re-checked every 12 months Trading activity, premises evidence and trade references have been checked. This does not verify individual products.
Category / Brand Verified
Attaches to one specific category or brand
What this covers
That the supplier holds the licences and authorisations required for that particular category — an FSSAI licence, a drug licence, or a brand authorisation letter.
What this does not cover
Every other category. A supplier verified for Cosmetics is not thereby verified for Food or Pharmaceuticals.
Checks currently running at this level
- FSSAI Licence (Food & FMCG) Food & FMCG · re-checked every 12 months A valid FSSAI food licence has been checked for this category only.
- Drug Licence (Pharmaceuticals) Pharmaceuticals · re-checked every 12 months A valid wholesale drug licence has been checked for this category only.
- Cosmetics Manufacturer / Importer Details Cosmetics & Beauty · re-checked every 12 months Manufacturer or importer details have been checked for this category only. Individual products are verified separately.
- Electronics Sourcing & Warranty Electronics · re-checked every 12 months Manufacturer or importer details and warranty responsibility have been checked for this category only.
Product Documentation Verified
Attaches to one specific product
What this covers
That documentation, packaging, batch and expiry details for that individual product have been checked against the evidence supplied.
What this does not cover
Every other product from the same supplier. This badge is granted product by product.
Checks currently running at this level
- Product Documentation · re-checked every 6 months Documentation, packaging and batch details for this specific product have been checked.
Verification cannot be bought
Paid plans and featured placement buy visibility — nothing else. No subscription grants a badge, accelerates a review, or changes an outcome. Verification comes only from document review, and a supplier on our most expensive plan with no approved documents carries no badges at all.
Where a supplier has paid for placement, we label it “Featured” and style it differently from every verification badge, so the two can never be mistaken for one another.
Reporting a problem
You can report counterfeit goods, misleading information, expired or damaged stock, unauthorised brand claims and non-delivery. Every report is investigated: we request evidence from both sides, and can warn, restrict, suspend or remove a supplier, and revoke badges already granted.
Badges also expire. When a licence lapses, the badge it supported is withdrawn automatically — a badge never outlives the document behind it.
